Job Objective

Establish, Prove and Scale the world’s first Innovation Marketing Company targeted at the rural poor

Reporting to

Initially to CEO-RIN and then to the Chairman of the Board of SIMMS

Reporting from

Manager-Direct Operations, to whom reports a team of field staff

Qualification

Agriculture or Engineering with an MBA

Experience (Years / Nature)

Around 7-10 years, age of around 32-35yrs

Knowledge of rural markets

KRAs

Samruddhi in Year 1 – Prove the business model

  1. sales per store per month reaches Rs 1 lakh
  2. net profit per store per month reaches Rs 10,000
  3. total number of stores reaches 10
  4. minimum commission earned by VLE per month reaches Rs 2,000

Samruddhi in Year 2 – Lead the early growth phase

  1. Grow from 10 to 30 stores
  2. Build a robust business plan
  3. Raise funds required for early growth phase

Activities

Sales

-          Conceptualise, Launch and Review sales promotion programmes

-          Hand-hold sales and undertake close review on daily, monthly basis

-          Review sales planning

Stores

-          Decision making on location of new stores based on surveys

-          Oversee management of stores and the adherence to the store operations manual

VLEs

-          Review performance of VLEs and develop programmes to enhance performance

Marketing

-          Build the Samruddhi brand among the various stake-holders through well defined communication programmes

Sourcing

-          Define specific but scalable problem/opportunity areas

-          Review Scouting/selection of new products to capture such market opportunity

-          Oversee Field trials

-          Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers of new products – specifically in negotiating prices and other terms

HR

-          Build a skilled and committed middle management team

-          Lead manpower planning and recruitment

-          Champion performance appraisals once in 6 months and career development learning sessions once a year

-          Map competency development needs and Implement trainings or other dev programmes

-          Undertake reviews – weekly (of direct reportees), monthly (of managerial team), quarterly (of SSOs), annual (of entire team)

MIS

-          Set direction to MIS systems and build a culture of information based analysis, planning and implementation

Accounting and Finance

-          Oversee accounting

-          Review audit reports

Administration

-          Meet all statutory compliances such as RoC, income tax, seed licenses, sales tax, VAT etc.,

Board

-          Organise quarterly and monthly board meetings

Growth

-          Lead reviews of the business model

-          Champion strategic and business planning

-          Lead Fund Raising
