Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is India’s biggest and one of the world's leading information technology companies. In the year 2006-2007, TCS, in partnership with IIT-M and RIN, organised GENESIS (a business plan competition to promote social entrepreneurship).

Tata Kisan Sansar (TKS)

Tata Kisan Sansar(TKS ) - The Tata Kisan Sansar network reflects the Tata Group's belief that technology can and must be harnessed to solve India's social and economic problems. RIN was associated with TCL (Tata Kisan Sansar) as part of the Innovation to Market Programme (IMP) to scale up the marketing and distribution of innovations across India.

AAVISHKAAR INDIA MICRO VENTURE CAPITAL FUND

RIN has a MoU with Aavishkaar to make venture capital investments in RIN facilitated enterprises. A rurally oriented, for-profit social venture capital fund, Aavishkaar was established with the mission of promoting the largely ignored entrepreneurial potential that exists in rural India. Aavishkaar will provide timely and appropriate venture capital financing, management support and professional expertise to promising micro-ventures. Consistent with social development objectives, the fund accords priority to enterprises with limited or no access to established institutions. Registered as a Trust, Aavishkaar operates as a venture fund registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

ASHOKA INNOVATORS FOR THE PUBLIC

Ashoka Innovators for the Public is a global non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, U.S.A. It invests in Fellowships to individuals who are crafting new solutions for existing social problems. As Ashoka puts it, 'The recipients of our Fellowships are "public entrepreneurs" who are working on new ideas in any field of development (health, gender rights, human rights, education, income generation, child rights, etc.) and have the blueprint for replicating their ideas for national and international impact. The models that they design are refreshingly different from tired prescriptions that have been applied in their field before.' Ashoka's global vision is to define and create a new professional association of social entrepreneurship. In doing so, Ashoka builds peerage among social entrepreneurs in countries of operation. Even as Ashoka supports those at the launch stage, it constantly endeavors to elect Ashoka members who are leading social entrepreneurs, have already made a scratch on history and are well ensconced in the mature phase of their work. Members are mentors for other Ashoka Fellows. They contribute to and benefit from the Ashoka Fellowship at least as much as other Fellows do. Over 1200 Ashoka Fellows currently work in 41 countries in diverse fields.

DASRA

Dasra builds sustainable non-profit organizations (NPOs) in India. Dasra grants technical assistance, to improve organizational capacity for strong performance, and managerial support to ensure a solid foundation for lasting social impact. In addition to funding RIN, Dasra provides RIN with strategic management inputs in the areas of board governance and performance management.

ISAP

ISAP is a network of professionals in India and the SAARC countries and is a non-political non-governmental organisation started and run by professionals. The professionals who have set up this venture have experiences ranging from Irrigation, Rural Development, Food Processing, International Trade, Research, Agri Inputs, Agri Extension etc. RIN has partnered with ISAP to leverage its rich network of experts in different disciplines that impact rural lives, the most important being agriculture.

MITRA TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATION

MITRA Technology Foundation is an organization committed to promoting the cause of volunteerism in India. Its slogan is "Giving Time, Doing Good." MITRA reaches out to, identifies and recruits volunteers to help non-profits and other organizations meet their missions. RIN provides MITRA with office space and related resources, and in return gains access to MITRA's network of volunteers. These volunteers are potential members of RIN's network of experts.

Network for Indian Environment Professionals (NIEP)

"Network of Indian Environment Professionals" is the first and only International Association of Indian Environment Professionals and Organizations. Established in 1999, NIEP provides a platform for Indian Environment Professionals to interact with each other, exchange ideas, sell their expertise and innovations to the International Environment Community and empower their career with the knowledge that they are not alone. It is a premier meeting ground for Environment Professionals and the prospective employers and environment vendors in this promising field. Today, the network has grown rapidly to include members from more than 150 Environment organizations and institutions. NIEP now hosts a full-fledged website, and community at www.envindia.com to service its members.

International Development Enterprise India Ltd

RIN has signed an MoU with IDEI (International Development Enterprises – India), Bangalore to promote 1000 pieces of Insect Traps in the 12 states all over India under the marketing mandate of IDEI.

N-Logue Communications

L-RAMP programme under the initiative of IIT-Madras and RIN has entered into a partnership with N-Logue Communications, established mainly to provide voice and internet services in every underserved village and small towns of India. N-Logue partnership will enhance the dissemination of L-RAMP incubation programme to the rural and semi-urban innovator population.

Intermediate Technology Development Group – ITDG (Sri Lanka)

RIN has become a member of the South Asian Forum on Technologies for Poverty Reduction (Janathakshan) and has committed to developing and implementing a regional strategy for making technologies work for poor. During the year, RIN was part of the first meeting of this forum and in association with Development Alternatives, New Delhi, started developing a strategy paper for the forum.

Centre for Research in Innovation, Science and Policy (CRISP)

RIN has entered into an MoU with CRISP, an autonomous research instituion located at ICRISAT, Hyderabad to research on rural innovation related issues in pro-poor rural development processes.

BASIX

BASIX is a new-generation, livelihood promotion institution established in 1996, working with over 190,000 poor households in 44 districts and eight states. Its mission is to promote a large number of sustainable livelihoods, including for the rural poor and women, through the provision of financial services and technical assistance in an integrated manner. As part of the Innovation to Market Programme, RIN has initiated pilot projects in Nizamabad, in association with Basix. to prove the salability and financial viability of selling innovative products.

BAIF Institute for Rural Development (BIRDK)

BIRD-K is involved in rural development, poverty alleviation, primary health care and conservation of natural resources since 20 years. RIN was associated with BAIF (BIRD-K) as part of the Innovation to Market Programme (IMP) to scale up the marketing and distribution of innovations across India. BIRD-K is also an active partner in testing and field trials of the mastitis testing kit innovation.

Gandhigram Rural Institute

The Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI) was founded in 1956. The Institute has developed academic programmes in Rural Development, Rural Economics and Extension Education, Rural Oriented Sciences, Cooperation, Development Administration, Rural Sociology, English and Communicative Studies, and, Tamil and Indian Languages. Gandhigram Rural Institute is one of the Nodal Partners of RIN’s Project-L-RAMP. During the year, My Idea Programmes were organised for student innovators of various engineering colleges, in association with GRI.

PSG College of Technology - STEP

PSG College of Technology - Science and Technology Entrepreneurial Park (PSG-STEP) was established in the year 1998 by PSG College of Technology, which is ranked among the top 10 Engineering Colleges in India along with the IIT's, by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, for the promotion of technology-based enterprises. STEP PSG College of Technology is one of the Nodal Partners of RIN’s project-L-RAMP. The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU)

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) was estbalished in June 1, 1971 but traces its genesis to way back in 1868. It is one of India’s leading universities for education in agriculture and allied sciences. TNAU is a Nodal Partner of RIN under the L-RAMP programme.

Vellore Institute of Technology

VIT has set-up a state of the art High Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at the VIT campus. The mission of VIT-TBI is to promote entrepreneurship, incubate start-up ventures and offer technology development services to firms in the region where VIT is situated. Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the Nodal Partners of RIN’s project- L-RAMP. During the year, My Idea Programmes were organised for students of various engineering colleges, in association with VIT.
